A Message from Pawnee Valley Community Hospital

Thank you for visiting the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (PVCH) website to learn more about our facility. Our goal is to be the best Critical Access Hospital in rural America. We are a 25-bed facility serving Larned and Pawnee County, Kansas.

PVCH is more than a hospital, it is a healthcare success story. Several years ago the hospital was on the brink of closing and having its critical access licensed taken away. That didn’t sit well with the community who sought the help of the Kansas attorney general and other legal experts to keep its license and stay open. The community was successful in its fight to keeps the hospital’s doors open and due to the fighting spirit of the people of Pawnee County, PVCH is a much different place. We are in a new, beautifully designed facility that opened in 2013 and we are thriving because of our energized, caring staff and a partnership with HaysMed, one of the most progressive hospitals in our state.

We are patient centered and community driven and offer services not typically offered in a facility our size in a community the size of Larned. Services offered include 24/7 emergency care, acute and skilled nursing, specialized nursing services, surgical services, high complexity laboratory, an imaging center featuring a 64-slice CT scanner and a wide-bore, short-tube 1.5 Tesla MRI, physical therapy and advanced rehabilitation, cardiac and pulmonary services and a top-notch sleep and diagnostic center.

Please don’t hesitate to call (620-285-8801) or e-mail me (eric.lybarger@haysmed.com) with any questions or concerns you have about PVCH.
